Raised Vegetable Bed, Exeter

A family in Exeter wanted a productive kitchen garden but needed the beds raised to make planting and harvesting easier. Andy designed and built a double-bay raised bed using pressure-treated timber sleepers, sized to the available garden space and positioned for maximum sunlight.

The build involved levelling the ground, setting posts, and assembling the frame to a height that makes the beds easy to use without bending. The timber was treated for exterior use and will last many years. The finished raised bed sits neatly in the garden and the family have already planted their first season of vegetables.
